Peter Callesen

Big Paper Castle, 2004
A long time ago I stop thinking that works with paper are just simple origami. Now I know that origami can be very complex and that paper is just the bennning for a whole world of fantastic creations. That’s the reason why I created a category called papercraft: for always have an excuse to post and explore more about it.
Heaven and Hell, 2006
And it won’t be complete without the wonderful paper sculptures by Peter Callesen. This Danish artist not only makes the sculptures; he also sculpts the paper around it decorating it, cutting flowers, leaves and other symbolic elements. In his hands, the paper becomes lace too.
His about explains some of his influences: classic fairy tales, memories of childhood, romanticism and dreams. He also worked almost exclusively with white paper in different objects, paper cuts, installations and performances. (via ToM)
