Stephen Berkman

The Exhibition
The nineteenth century was very fruitful for science: several theories were developed and thousands of incredible creations appeared. Cinema, photography, telephone, car, gramophone, train, radio, the science fiction literature, the electric light… how amazing must have been to live in those times. All this came to my mind after seeing the photos and installations of the artist and photographer Stephen Berkman. He explores part of this incredible universe of the XIX century through his work. A combination of the ambrotype photographic process, the first scientific photographies and the use of photography as a registry of a surreal world. (via La main gauche)
