Jennifer Maestre

Ah coloured pencils… I remember the happiness of a new box. All those beautiful new pencils that I knew by colour and number, and the smell of them. I thought they were could be used only to draw and coloured images, until I find the incredible work of Jennifer Maestre. She takes hundreds of pencils, cut them into 1-inch sections, drill a hole in each section (to turn them into beads), sharpen them all and sew them together to create original sculptures inspired by the form and function of the sea urchin.
