A reader suggested an excellent artist, Edmond Kirazian, a.k.a. Kiraz. The illustrator and cartoonist worked for Playboy US and Canada for many years. He’s most known for his series of works called “Les Parisiennes”, stylized illustrations of women of Paris. Les Parisiennes are always elegant, sexy, insolent and clever.
Last year there was an exhibition with his works, Kiraz, les Parisiennes et la mode in the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Paris. The Journal Le Figaro made a short interview with Kiraz about it. If you weren’t in Paris when the exhibition occurred, don’t worry you can see his works in books or in sites.
This site has five galleries with Kiraz works: scanned images of book covers, posters, advertising, phone cards and other works. This other page has some nice images of his cartoons and ads for magazines. There is also a page with a miscellaneous slideshow. And, if you want to try drawing his Parisiennes, the page Les nymphettes de Kiraz ou le canon à 7 têtes has some tips and notes about Kiraz style. BTW, some of his illustrations may be considered NSFW by some.
