Canstruction

More Than Just Peanuts
Awesome! Canstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. It’s an annual contest where the artists create giant works of sculptural art using only out of canned foods. The teams of artists, composed by architects and engineers and I bet that Andy Warhol would love that. The best part comes in the end: after the end of the exhibitions all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers.
