Magic movie with Anthony Hopkins (though I did not know the actor was him at the time) scared me terribly as a kid! I still remember the commercial for it – the dummy was taking to you (to the camera) and got closer and closer and then did this demonic laugh. It freaked me out! That was the scaries thing I can remember as a kid. But the funny thing was that I recieved my first dummy from my aunt and after that loved them, kept receiving more for Christmas. I had W.C. Fields, Lester, Groucho Marx, Bozo, just about all of them. *lol*

Hey Mark, you review about it is very nice.
Good for you Luke. I don’t like them. There are people that are afraid of spiders, I don’t care for them, but I don’t like of dummies or porcelain dolls. Freaky creatures. I didn’t care for them when I was younger, now I don’t appreciate their company.

i dont think thay are scary i have two in my room
and i sleep fine even after whatching movies like saw and stuff i do not get scread i am 13
some people have problams whith them but i think
thay are cool.

Dead of Night is a wonderful film! I’ve been thinking about reviewing it lately, so I was surprised to find it suddenly mentioned here.
Now that I know this is a film that you have seen, I’ll try to review it this week. I have a review of Count Yorga, Vampire, lined up first, though.

Another creepy ventriloquist-and-his-dummy movie is the 1964 Devil Doll, starring Bryant Halliday as the Great Vorelli haunted by the rather ugly Hugo. Weird stuff, indeed.
(Halliday, by the way, started the company Janus Films, to distribute European and Asian films in America and the UK.)
