The Invisible Cities

Citté Invisibili is a project based on the Italo Calvino’s book The Invisible Cities created by the artist Colleen Corradi Brannigan. She created etchings, lithographs, paintings and watercolours based on Calvino’s cities after a deep analysis. You can see the result on her wonderful works. BTW, this made me wish to read it again and if you never read it I suggest to you do it: the book is fantastic.

The poetic visions, translated into disquieting landscapes in perspective, boast of skilful composition. The deep hues present in most of the etchings add a kind of dreamy-like appearance which, together with the magical world of illusion, reflects everyday reality.
