Flying Lessons

Robert & Shana ParkeHarrison create beautiful photos in sepia with a dream atmosphere and some vintage style.

The veracity of the photograph, from which all his images are constructed, provides the convincing backdrop for narratives of separation and loss. And the influences from literature, theater, cinema, and painting enrich the work with symbols supportive of the artist’s universal subjects, particularly the struggles of the Everyman…

Ahhh. Somewhere between Sebald and Kafka, between Harold Lloyd and the Brothers Quay. And Tarkovsky, always Tarkovsky.
    Excellent.

Great! Yes, there is something of Kafka there. 🙂
And Tarkovsky well… I have to confess… I just read a great book that he wrote: “Esculpir o tempo”. Well, I don’t know the name in English.
Thanks for the list of comparisons. Great point of view. 🙂

In English the book is called ‘Sculpting in Time’. The films are slow and pensive. and wonderful. ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Stalker’ (not about the activity of stalking), ‘The Mirror’, etc, etc.
Try some video shops, usually they have the odd one.

I will try. Well I know where to find them, but know I just have the DVD on the computer and they are videos. But I will try to find DVDs versions. 🙂
    Thanks Steff 🙂
