Heidi Taillefer is a talent Canadian artist that makes some fabulous paintings and drawings.
The recurring theme of Taillefer’s paintings over the years has been a blurring of the line between the organic and the inanimate. She painstakingly assembles living things – horses, cherubs, elephants, cats aplenty and the occasional pregnant woman – out of precisely rendered, seemingly incongruous objects.
“Some people try to express an idea in as few words as possible, to be as concise as possible. I was doing the opposite, trying to represent the image with different levels of interpretation based on which elements you look at, at the same time.”
