IDA Announces 2004 Awards:

The International Documentary Association (IDA) announced the winners of the 20th annual IDA Distinguished Documentary Achievement Awards competition on Thursday and Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 shared the best feature award with Zana Briski and Ross Kauffman’s Born Into Brothels, a look into the lives of a group of children trying to escape their lives in Calcutta’s red light district. In the shorts category (films under 40 minutes), the winner was Robert Hudson and Bobby Houston’s Mighty Times Volume 2: The Children’s March, a film that recounts the effect on the civil rights movement in 1963 Alabama when thousands of children and students joined the fight.
