Brazilians Hot For Broadband

Brazilian phone companies are betting on strong demand for high-speed internet access in the next few years and, in an effort to offset the country’s shrinking fixed-line market, are rushing into the expected broadband boom.
The latest estimates for the broadband business in Brazil are eye-popping. While countries with widespread broadband use have annual growth rates of up to 40 percent, Brazil’s main operators see high-speed access expanding from 60 percent to 100 percent this year and next.

    Se o crescimento vier junto com a melhoria do serviço e qualidade de atendimento, esta é uma útima notícia. O que me preocupa é que as empresas espelho não decolaram (ainda) e o custo da implantação é alto, então há o perigo da demanda elevada permitir que as companhias forcem os preços para cima.
